LAN Peru was founded in July 1998 by entrepreneurs Mr. Boris Hirmas Rubio, Javier Rodriguez Larrain Salinas, Lorenzo Sousa Debarbieri and Cristian Said Montiel. The airline started operations in July 1999 with a domestic flight from Jorge Chávez International Airport to Rodriguez Ballon International Airport, Arequipa and Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport, Cusco. It emerged as one of the top airlines of Peru after the demise of AeroPeru and Faucett Perú. The airline is owned by LAN Airlines (49%), ER Larraín (30%) and Inversiones Aéreas (21%). Currently, LAN Peru serves 25 destinations in Peru, as well as a range of destinations in the rest of South America, North America and Europe. The airline has its main hub at Jorge Chávez International Airport and is headquartered at Miraflores, Lima, Peru.
